Dark Magic – original oil painting of an iris
This is an original oil painting of a purple iris.Â
I love iris flowers with their stunning architectural beauty and voluptuous flowers. I have several in my back garden and it’s always a special moment when the blooms first come out. The flowering season is very short and the display only lasts a couple of weeks so I wanted to capture their transient beauty in paint so it will last for life!
It is signed using an archival pen in the bottom right. The painting comes in a classic chunky frame that will suit most interiors and is ready to hang.

It is painted in oil on a board prepared with two finely sanded layers of gesso.
